I'm bored and don't have the time to actually do anything at this second, but if I was, what would you be doing in private right now?~
[... She literally signed it with a lipstick mark because she's the worst and the only person that probably would send him a letter like this with pink lipstick at that.]
[ His letter is delivered by a thrall, of course, with a golden wax seal and perfect penmanship. ]
Dear Lydia,
I take your use of signature to mean you are requesting an insight of a sexual nature? Very well, I am amenable to indulging the imagination.
Were we together, in private as you have posited, we could surely find use for idle hands and delicate fingers. I know how dearly you enjoy my blade, and I do so revel in the sight of your red blood. It would be my pleasure to make you cry out in painful ecstacy as I carve into your pale, supple flesh.
Does this suit your liking? Or was your inquiry into how I find self-pleasure?
[Of course it is and she honestly didn't expect for him to actually reply to her. But, well, she can keep this going just to see how long he'll keep this up.]
Darling,
You don't have to write this like an actual letter, I hope you know. But I do find great amusement in you taking to that so quickly. Though your imagination through words is so vague that I just can't seem to picture exactly what you would like to be doing or have me do.
I do greatly enjoy using my, as you say, delicate fingers in more creative ways but I suspect that you surely wouldn't want the distraction while being so intricate with your blade. I certainly wouldn't want you to slip up while I'm attempting to writhe beneath your touch after all.
[Sorry, Xenk, she is absolutely just using the lipstick for her mark now to be an ass.]
[ Another sealed letter delivered by the same thrall. Naturally. ]
Dear Lydia,
A letter should be a letter, this is the natural way of things. I would not send you a paltry strip of paper unless it were properly done.
I apologize if my words were vague in my previous missive. I would have you bound by the ankles and wrists, limbs tied down to the appropriate beams to ensure you cannot move nor draw them any closer to your body. As you would be at my mercy, I would carve your back and tease you with the gentlest touches, which I know would frustrate you greatly, before digging my blade in along your sides until the knife hits bone.
I would much enjoy hearing your screams as I bring you your favored torment. To see you writhe beneath my blade and your skin flush with desire is always a boon. Would you have any other requests of me?
You are the only person I know that would take something like this and try to make it formal, but I suppose that is your odd sort of charm.
But I very much appreciate you being more detailed with me given no one else will come across these letters or, if they did, they'd regret doing so. Though I do have to know, would you stop when you hit bone or would you continue until it would require a Silver to put me back together again? I certainly wouldn't fault you if you did, or even if you didn't, for that matter. But seeing you so free is such a delight and I'm glad that I can do that much for you.
Would you leave me wanting while I'm bound and tied like that or would you take some pity on my poor touch-starved and flushed body? Though I do wonder how more interesting things could be if my senses were removed during this as well, I have to admit.
[ Back and forth, delivering sexy mail. Better than getting chomped on, right? ]
Dear Lydia,
I will accept your compliment. You need not worry of anyone discovering our letters, for I have sealed them with wax and instructed this thrall to deliver them to you directly. Should any attempt to intercept, they would find me very cross indeed.
Should you wish it, I would carve into your bones with my blade. Runes and art is not my specialty, but I believe you would appear quite beautiful indeed with carvings along your ribs, the bright red flesh of your entrails spilling forth from beneath pale skin. It is of course far easier to picture in fantasy than how much blood would surely coat my hands were I to attempt such a thing. Perhaps Silver would need to be contacted, simply to avoid the mess.
[ He's dumb and gets too realistic in these sometimes. It's. It's Xenk. ]
While I know the sight of your own flesh is to your liking, taking your sight and speech would be quite simple, though the matter of your hearing might be held back by compulsion. Perhaps while you are held, bleeding and gasping, with your senses at my mercy, I might take pity on your form and help you find release. I have deft hands and deft lips, either one would be pleasing, if only to enjoy watching you writhe with abandon.
You are the absolute worst at sounding sexy instead of clinical, I hope you know. Though you at least do paint a very good picture, if not... extremely literal. In fact, if you aren't busy, I think perhaps this conversation might be better had in person where I can at least shove you if you get to this point again.
And maybe have a little brainstorming session on just what Silver would actually be best to have on stand-by for something like that, because you absolutely have my curiosity and interest in all of that~ I'm a simple woman sometimes, we both know that.
Alternatively, I might have a few ideas that are less... extreme but might be a nice little in-between, better said in person.
[Sometime shortly after Eden comes to Karma about Xenk trying to get her to join Gold Court, a letter that is hand written and sealed with wax is hand delivered by a thrall.]
Dearest Xenk Yendar,
A conversation you have had with my novice, Eden Woods, has recently come to my attention. I would like to formally request that you do not approach her further about joining the Gold Court as that is not an area of her interest nor where her considerable skills will best be utilized for her future. If you continue to desire to approach her on such matters, I would request that you speak to me about it first as I have her best interests at heart.
Should you speak with her about it without my consent once more, drastic measures will be within reason for me to execute.
Perhaps it would be prudent for you to focus on the Blue Court hopeful you wish to bring into your court instead of Ms. Woods, as I am sure he is a handful that will take up much of your time if you wish to be successful with him.
Please forgive the intrusion if my comments have been misconstrued as an undue interest in Ms. Woods. I was uninformed as to the identity of her Maker, and thus inquired if her interest in Gold was such that a change might be considered, given the skill and interest she shared with me with regards to governmental changes and discussions as part of the Summer Summit. I admit I shared my concerns with her after it became clear that she was at risk of being abandoned by her previous Maker, and have perhaps taken an more than an appropriate interest in her progress as it would have been unfortunate to see her fail through no fault of her own.
[ I mean he "shared his concerns" by being stern and over-checking her work, but that's how he... weirdly shows interest in students. ]
To be clear, it was never my intent to take on Ms. Woods myself. Merely I have expressed concerns over her generalized abilities and skills, and wished to eke out if perhaps she had any particular interests toward any Court in particular. This was clarified to me on her behalf as I understand her interests are academic in nature, and thus do not believe she would make a sensible fit for Gold Court.
I hope the miscommunication can be clarified, as I am loathe to bring the wrath of a youngblood of your considerable talent against me. Such underhanded tactics do not befit myself or my Court. Were I interested in claiming Ms. Woods for the Gold Court, know that I would have brought the matter to you personally, as I did for the Blue Court novice that you have mentioned.
I see that I was misinformed of your intentions and should have further explored the matter before approaching you so sternly. Shamefully, I admit I took my novice at their word and did not ask them for further clarification to understand your intentions. You have ever been an upstanding and forthright vampire and I should not have doubted that for a second, for that you have my sincerest remorse.
Your concerns for her generalization in courses are not misplaced, but I wish to reassure you that the matter has already been addressed between her and I. And must agree that her academic mindset makes her an ill fit for Gold, but quite well placed within Silver. Luckily, as I am now her Maker, she will not fail from any fault not her own. I will see to her proper education and a more goal focused mindset.
I wish you much luck with your Blue Butterfly, he is quite the catch. Were he more suited for Silver I might have taken an interest in him as well, but he is not well placed in my Court.
You need not apologize, for I know you meant no offense in your words. With the knowledge you were given, this is the response one would expect from a proper maker. Still, I am heartened to hear that there is no lasting doubt placed upon my person. While I will not deny that there are many who do not, I make it a point to act ever in accordance to the tenets of my court. Subterfuge is for the shadows. The truth ever shines.
As she is your novice, I leave the matter in your most capable hands. It brings me no joy to see those with talent fail. Your Silver Court welcomed my last novice, and he has thrived there in ways that he could not have achieved in the Gold Court. Thus I am pleased to hear that Ms. Woods will find the guidance needed to grow her skills, and with hope, make the choices that ensure her continued survival.
You have my thanks for your goodwill. He is exemplary, and we should both be fortunate if he makes the choice to change makers.
Warmly, Xenk Yendar

You are ever the brightest of your court for your honesty and forthrightness. Something I appreciate greatly about you.
Yes, Elias Argent is a good friend and companion of mine, a true asset to the Silver Court. It is good that you did what was best for him and allow him to seek another maker, he has been an invaluable addition to my Court. I will endeavor to do right by Ms. Woods and see to her growth as both a vampire and Silver Court hopeful, I cannot see in a world under my guidance that she will fail.
May your Blue Butterfly find purchase on your offered hand and bloom golden for you.
[ Something tells her that Xenk Yendar is more a sent letter type of person than the type to respond to a journal note. A while after conversing with Karma, she belatedly realized what some of the intentions in the messages had been. ]
Mr Yendar,
I apologize if my Maker sends any correspondence as a warning to you. They may have misinterpreted a few things I've said... A few teachers have been confusing to me since changing makers, and you saying I should consider the Gold Court was just one of the experiences I shared. Not the only, and I didn't phrase it as a complaint. I wasn't anticipating them to take it so... seriously.
Please know I said nothing bad about you. Apologies again if anything has or ends up being sent your way from Mx D'Auvergn.
Your apology is accepted. Know that no harm was done to my reputation, nor that of your maker's, as the situation was resolved without violence.
I hope this proves to be a lesson to you, should you wish to heed it. In the world of the undying, the words you speak and the actions you take can have unexpected consequences. We vampires can be capricious in nature, and in our haste we protect that which is ours, or that which we perceive to be threatened. To be frank, there are a great deal of novices whose deaths are unrelated to their courses. A simple misspoken word can end a fragile life.
As I am certain your previous maker did not share this information with you, I do not fault you for your misstep. You will learn, as with all in Courtsheart, or you will die. For your sake, let it be the former and not the latter.
I must admit that any skills I hold in seduction are purely physical. I believe a conversation in person would be more to my taste as well. I will exalt you with the details, if that you wish to know more.
Simply inform me of where you would like to meet, and we may discuss the matter further.
Ardently, Xenk Yendar

I'm well aware that you pretty much dropped the ball entirely when it comes to seduction, otherwise I'd be more annoyed about the way you write.
However~ I think it might be easiest and more comfortable for us both if you meet me in my quarters, I'll even have a batch of bloodwine I've been playing with if that meets your fancy. Since I do believe I'm done with anything work-related at this particular moment for the day~
My door's always open and unlocked unless I already have a visitor, I hope you know.
[ Xenk doesn't respond to this one directly, but he does send Karma a gold-coated rose on her desk, courtesy of a thrall. The rose includes a short note. ]
Mx. D'Auvergn,
My thanks for your kind words and continued understanding. I wish for the best for you and your novice, and am ever at your service should you need.
[Ever curious, Karma plucks one of the petals to see if it was a blue rose underneath. Satisfied with her curiosity, she puts the rose to the side and chooses to let their letter sending end there.]
I was not even aware that violence was even a risk when sharing my confusion. I take it that would be the 'unexpected' consequence, though I would never have imagined that happening. You are correct in that Doctor Steinbach did not share this information, nor did we hold much of a bond. I am coming to learn just how much harm that's caused.
I'll heed your warning and remember the nature of how a Maker can be. Well, all vampires, as you've put it. It sounds like having a novice just triggers that part of vampires more easily.
[It's not as if she ever locks the door unless she cares to or isn't in there. Though it's probably of no surprise to him what-so-ever that she's perched on the edge of her desk and just grinning.]
You certainly didn't make me wait, how admirable~ Though you might want to lock the door behind you, unless you don't mind someone potentially wandering in.
Violence is always an option where vampires are concerned. We are creatures for whom violence comes naturally. A bout between youngbloods is not uncommon, as we heal quickly.
Be sure to ask your maker should you have any questions of our culture, as you may not find such patience from your teachers in the future. A novice and their maker share a unique bond. Do not squander it.
[ The letters have been mostly legible... At least for the improvements Eden's made, but this one is a bit splotchier and the writing does that odd trail upwards as it goes across the page. It's clear that the splotches are usually around certain punctuation, with a touch of bleed through. ]
M▬ YenDar,
Don▬ worry. Now that I have it▬ I refuse to let that happen. I very much plan to keep it nourished until they take my lif▬
[ Edgin is just storming into Xenk's office hours. Is it ungodly early? Well, for Edgin, yes, but he knows Xenk doesn't have a life, he's pretty sure he's going to be here. ]
[ Correct, Xenk does not have a life. He does enjoy reading books in his office when he's not practicing his swordplay or whatever, so Edgin just steps on in while Xenk looks up from his smutty novel. ]
Yes? Is something the matter?
[ He is not paying Edgin much attention, but in his defense, he just got to a really good part. ]
