Please forgive the intrusion if my comments have been misconstrued as an undue interest in Ms. Woods. I was uninformed as to the identity of her Maker, and thus inquired if her interest in Gold was such that a change might be considered, given the skill and interest she shared with me with regards to governmental changes and discussions as part of the Summer Summit. I admit I shared my concerns with her after it became clear that she was at risk of being abandoned by her previous Maker, and have perhaps taken an more than an appropriate interest in her progress as it would have been unfortunate to see her fail through no fault of her own.
[ I mean he "shared his concerns" by being stern and over-checking her work, but that's how he... weirdly shows interest in students. ]
To be clear, it was never my intent to take on Ms. Woods myself. Merely I have expressed concerns over her generalized abilities and skills, and wished to eke out if perhaps she had any particular interests toward any Court in particular. This was clarified to me on her behalf as I understand her interests are academic in nature, and thus do not believe she would make a sensible fit for Gold Court.
I hope the miscommunication can be clarified, as I am loathe to bring the wrath of a youngblood of your considerable talent against me. Such underhanded tactics do not befit myself or my Court. Were I interested in claiming Ms. Woods for the Gold Court, know that I would have brought the matter to you personally, as I did for the Blue Court novice that you have mentioned.
I see that I was misinformed of your intentions and should have further explored the matter before approaching you so sternly. Shamefully, I admit I took my novice at their word and did not ask them for further clarification to understand your intentions. You have ever been an upstanding and forthright vampire and I should not have doubted that for a second, for that you have my sincerest remorse.
Your concerns for her generalization in courses are not misplaced, but I wish to reassure you that the matter has already been addressed between her and I. And must agree that her academic mindset makes her an ill fit for Gold, but quite well placed within Silver. Luckily, as I am now her Maker, she will not fail from any fault not her own. I will see to her proper education and a more goal focused mindset.
I wish you much luck with your Blue Butterfly, he is quite the catch. Were he more suited for Silver I might have taken an interest in him as well, but he is not well placed in my Court.
You need not apologize, for I know you meant no offense in your words. With the knowledge you were given, this is the response one would expect from a proper maker. Still, I am heartened to hear that there is no lasting doubt placed upon my person. While I will not deny that there are many who do not, I make it a point to act ever in accordance to the tenets of my court. Subterfuge is for the shadows. The truth ever shines.
As she is your novice, I leave the matter in your most capable hands. It brings me no joy to see those with talent fail. Your Silver Court welcomed my last novice, and he has thrived there in ways that he could not have achieved in the Gold Court. Thus I am pleased to hear that Ms. Woods will find the guidance needed to grow her skills, and with hope, make the choices that ensure her continued survival.
You have my thanks for your goodwill. He is exemplary, and we should both be fortunate if he makes the choice to change makers.
Warmly, Xenk Yendar

You are ever the brightest of your court for your honesty and forthrightness. Something I appreciate greatly about you.
Yes, Elias Argent is a good friend and companion of mine, a true asset to the Silver Court. It is good that you did what was best for him and allow him to seek another maker, he has been an invaluable addition to my Court. I will endeavor to do right by Ms. Woods and see to her growth as both a vampire and Silver Court hopeful, I cannot see in a world under my guidance that she will fail.
May your Blue Butterfly find purchase on your offered hand and bloom golden for you.
[ Xenk doesn't respond to this one directly, but he does send Karma a gold-coated rose on her desk, courtesy of a thrall. The rose includes a short note. ]
Mx. D'Auvergn,
My thanks for your kind words and continued understanding. I wish for the best for you and your novice, and am ever at your service should you need.
[Ever curious, Karma plucks one of the petals to see if it was a blue rose underneath. Satisfied with her curiosity, she puts the rose to the side and chooses to let their letter sending end there.]
